From ‘Cradle to Grave’ – Medical Equipment Lifecycle
Since equipment is our business, we thought it would be interesting to take a closer look at the equipment life cycle continuum and how our services integrate into decisions and managing capital assets within the hospital. Knowing and understanding the complete ‘lifecycle’ of an asset can ensure getting the most value out of your equipment, and proactively managing capital equipment on a daily basis.
Above is a diagram outlining the medical equipment lifecycle and each stage from the date of purchase until the equipment leaves the facility. To ensure asset maximization, equipment must be managed every step of the cycle.
Over the next few months we will take a closer look at each phase within the lifecycle continuum to better understand how to proactively manage your capital equipment.
MRG Fun Facts:
It’s summertime, and who doesn’t enjoy a cool treat on a hot day? The month of July is National Ice Cream Month, and when the most ice cream is consumed in the U.S. Most Americans eat on average 5.5 gallons of ice cream per year.
Ice pops were invented by accident in 1905 by 11 year old Frank Epperson. He mixed water and soda and left it out overnight. The temperature was low and the liquid froze with the mixing stick still in it. His idea was patented in 1924 and ice pops have been a summertime hit ever since.
